Good news the lodge gals are going to trust us with the few cartridges of cricut software they have. Did I tell you 4 sisters and their parents are owners of the lodge. Well in a correspondence I lamented that "crooks" spoiled it for the rest of us and just got chatty about how all us family were going to be together; well to make a long story short we get to use some of their stuff! On another note. If you need to cell phone us on Friday: Mike will have the cell phone so he can pick up Fran and bring her to the lodge. So call Katie: 310-309-7320. Or Mariann, Annie, or Joni will have their phones. I'm not sure what everyone's reception will be like. We'll call you travelers and let you know who has reception from the lodge.

Stockhold art fair

Hello, I was browsing the internet looking for what's in the area of the Lodge, and saw that Sat the 17th is Stockholm's art fair. It is only 10 minutes from the lodge! Granted we have the shower on Saturday at noon, but for those who aren't doing crafting maybe you would be interested in going to the fair in the morning before the shower. The address is W3547 State Road 35 Maiden Rock Wi 54750 . I found it helpful for the Illinois people or the Iowa people to go to the web site for the lodge retreat and follow the directions (not the map only) which is on the site. Directions are given from the Wisconsin Dells or Rochester Mn. Keep in mind the directions take you to the town not the lodge. (strange). The lodge is on Hwy. 35. right in town. It is a small town. 2-3 blocks long. The lodge is on the river side (west side) of the Hwy. If you cross the Mississippi at Red Wing you go Right or south on Hwy 35 and Maiden Rock is within 10 miles on the right side of the Hwy. (note: Red Wing is in Minnesota. so that would help the Iowa-Missouri travelers)

I heard from Andrew... Jacki, Chris, and Andrew are coming Fri. evening and can stay until Sat. evening. It will be great seeing them!

Getting closer! ( I heard from Katie that Annie Zeets won't be able to come! We'll miss ya Annie! ) I need a reply from the rest of you on who will be arriving when and staying how long you are staying so meals can be planned and food bought. Ann Michele, comes on Thurs and we'll be buying the food then. She has a great menu planned! Of course I know Katie's, Joni's, Mariann's, and Ann's plans. Kathy, talk to me about your travel plans cause Hwy 63 ( through Rochester) goes 10 miles from the lodge! You'll probably get there in 4 hours or less. I'll tally totals for lodging and food when we are at the lodge. My credit card payment for the lodge isn't due til a few days after our gathering. As I mentioned before students (Rowan and Danielle ) and the future bride and groom won't pay for lodging but I'll divide the food cost by all the lodgers. So gals the total for lodging will be $105. We paid for 2 nights ($1200) and got the 3rd night free. And food $15-$20 total ( unless I'm way off there!). I've also kept a list of who has given the down payment. Any one can come as early as 9a.m. Fri. and stay as late as 4p.m. Mon. Also Mariann,Joni is flying into your terminal 1/2 hour before you from Chicago on Southwest! I gave her your flight info. and I'll pick up you two together. On a different note if you have difficulty with train noises be warned we are by a train track! Joni said she'll bring a bunch of ear plugs! But I know the pluses to the lodge will out way any trains! Any questions? Jo-Jo

What's everyone's plans for the 4th? Mike gets home from the Canada fishing trip tomorrow night. Sam is in California for another week. I'm off work 3 days so I'll work on some projects. I'll post lodge's phone # and other info. next week. Any room-mate preference? We have 17 people so far. I have a olde time photo book with black and white pictures I'm working on and of course iris folding cards and helping Katie with any projects. I'm waiting to talk with Annie on the food she's planning and then I'll let you know what foods will be there and I could purchase any of your favorite foods or snacks. I don't want to have you all bring food unless you want to. Katie has a idea planned for the shower luncheon to go with her theme. I'll work it out with Annie...surprise for the rest of you! what a day!

This a.m. I read a EMail response to my lodge inquiry and it said our balance was $1300 instead of $900! I freaked and looked up all my previous correspondence and EMailed her to call me back cause we had booked at a last summer rate. Many hours past and no phone call! So I called a good friend and was prayed with, over the phone, for a quick resolve to the problem. 5 minutes later the lodge lady called and apologized for sending the wrong info! Prayer works! I'm going to keep her phone # for future times! Also we won't rent the lodge for Thurs. nite. Too expensive! I found out we can get in as early as 8am Friday. And leave by 4pm Monday! Good news! The travel plans I know: Katie flying in Wed. midnight. Joni and Mariann flying in Thurs. afternoon. They'll be staying Thurs. and Monday night at our house. Fran is flying in Fri. 11:30 a.m. I'll pick her up at the airport but the other gals can go early to the lodge. You can post your plans for possible arrival times. Katie heard from Jackie that her Mom Chris will be coming with them. If any one else wants to come in Thurs I can arrange for you to stay the night at friends houses. I can do the same for Mon. night. Let me know what you think. By having the early check in and late check out we can get alot done on our time away projects and just plain chillin' and being together! It's all coming together!

MN Reception Date Error

Well, can you believe that I put the WRONG DATE on the save-the-date card for the MN Reception?!?! I feel silly. But, the correct date is Saturday Dec 4th. So, if you could all help spread the word, that would be great.

Well, at least I had the date right for the wedding :)

Chicago, here we come!

David and I just got our flights for Andrew and Jackie's wedding! We're really excited to see everybody and for their wedding of course!

6 weeks (shower) and 2 1/2 months(wedding)!!!

It's getting close! Katie is getting the shower invites out soon and Andrew and Jacki's registries will be included. Good news, Kathy and Annie Zeets are coming! She is bringing a couple of sewing machines! Yah! Katie wants to do a jewelry making project for her wedding. If anyone else besides Kathy is quilting let me know because the staff will set up tables and ironing boards etc. They have a cricut machine and I have the pads to go in it. This machine is used to cut out letters and forms. I'm waiting to hear who in Jacki's family is coming. Her Mom Chris and maybe a sister and sister-in-law. When I have the total # of people coming I'll let you know totals due. I'll put $20 a piece in that total for food. Fran is the only one from her family coming. She'll fly in Thurs. or Fri. Flying in Thurs. and staying at my house on Thurs. and Mon. night is: Mariann, Joni and Katie (maybe Fran). I did Email the lodge lady to ask what the price would be for Thurs. night. If it's reasonable that might be an option for those of us here on Thurs. I'm e-mailing this to those not on this blog.

I got a ticket!!!!
I got a ticket to come for the Lodge weekend.....am sooo very excited. Have been looking for a ticket and found one that I thought was a deal, so I got it. Chose to go with Southwest Airlines so that I get 2 free bags....think I can fit a sewing machine into one of them??!?!?!? :>)
We won't be able to make the wedding in August, so it was just a real treat that I can make this event. Looking forward to seeing all of you.
Should have joined the challenge, but felt like I just made a donation to the last one since I didn't do a thing. Good luck to all you participants...I will be your best cheer leader.

Update

I heard from Heidi Nielsen: Her and Abbie won't be able to make it this time and wish they could. Al and Abbie are in Colorado then and Heidi will be home with Tino. She says to let her know about the time away. We'll miss seeing them! I did hear from Liz that Jackie's Mom, Chris, might be able to come and Mariann is checking out tickets! I hope this update finds everyone in good health and enjoying spring. Love ya all, Joann

We're having a graduation party for Andrew

Andrew graduates May 8, saturday.
After the ceremony John and I are having a barbecue at our home in chillicothe.
I'm making a formal invitation and will send it in the mail soon, john will get a map to our home also.

July Get-Together

I am definitely going but details haven't been worked out yet. I talked to Mariann and there is a possibility that she may fly and we can make a connection at Waterloo for driving together to Wisconsin. She doesn't yet know if the trip will work out timewise--we will keep you posted. I'm hoping Kathy and Anni can work something out with us--again time will tell. July seems a long way off----or is it?

I sent the following EMail today: Hi all. We are up and running on the Zeets blog. Google: "Zeets family blog" to get to the site. It's a blogspot blogger. You can read and comment anytime but to post ask Ann how to set a sign-in account. I'm EMailing this to all the original recipients but if you opt out I won't send you updates but go on the site anytime you want to read what we are up to. I did hear from Aunt Barb. She's traveling out west with her sisters to see family. She'll be at Andrew and Jackie's wedding and see us then. Also Fran is coming but waiting to hear if Robin (and Georgia) and Sarah are coming. Cary won't be able to come. Jamie Zeets won't be able to come but Kathy and Annie might be able to come Fri- Sun. Yes's are: myself, Katie, Nancy, Rosie, Ann and Rowan, Aunt Joni, Liz, Jackie and Andrew, Deanne and Danielle . Heidi: waiting to hear if you and girls are coming. I hope it works out! Happy Easter!!

I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter. We celebrated with David's family. The kids dyed Easter eggs and then went driving. We got to see Grandma Emma's new/improved/bigger room at Bethany Home. We're looking forward to the get together.

A Zeets function. Oh I am so ready. I missed the Sanibel connection. Something new. How exciting. I like the multi-generation thing too. I'll do my usual...nothing but enjoy. Anyone for fudge? Tee hee.

Info on the lodge in July

I'm sending this info off to you all to start the communication for the lodge booking for our craft/shower/get together the weekend of July 16th- July19th in Maiden Rock Wisconsin. I am posting it on the Zeets Family Blog and also EMailing it to everyone. I am including all the recipients EMails and please get ahold of Ann Anderson if you need to get back on the blog or get on it for the first time. Please reply a interest level so we know our numbers. If you can't decide until the end of June, that's OK. Just let us know if you are a "maybe". We have at least 10 gals committed so that would be a total of $120 a piece for the 4 day 3 night lodging. It will be less$$ if the numbers rise. Some of you have put a deposit down already; I'm keeping track. I'll need the balance the beginning of June. As stated before school children and the shower guest of honor: Jackie, aren't expected to pay for lodging. There is lots of bed space . 7 bedrooms with 16 separate beds. 24 1s capacity if beds are shared. Visit the site at thelodgeretreat.com . Also there is a interest by some of the gals in doing a weight loss challenge. Starting Mon. April 12th going to Thurs. Jul. 15th. Any contestants in the challenge bring a "very nice" gift to the winner. The winner gets first pick of half of the gifts; 2nd place next pick of one or more. 3rd place a gift and if enough contestants a 4th place. The starting weight and ending weight will not be posted. A percentage of total weight lost will be the deciding factor. It's like on the "Biggest Loser". I nominate Katie Loesch to be our correspondent and tallier. If it helps you to report your loss often do it to her. Back to the lodge : it will be a great time! They area has so much to see and do. It will be a great time to connect with family.
